Wet AMD Pilot Information Evening - Moorfields - 9th November

For all those practices who have already registered an interest in participating in the Moorfields ‘Wet AMD Rapid Access Service’, an Information Evening is planned for Thursday 9th November. It will take place at their Ebenezer Street site and will start at 6pm. There will be CET points available.

As Moorfields are keen to start the pilot they would like as many of the interested optometrists to attend on the 9th November as possible. For more information or to register your attendance, please email Michelle Martins at michelle@jclconsulting.co.uk by Friday 3rd November.

WOPEC Glaucoma OSCE: 5th December 2017

The LOC is running a Glaucoma OSCE Event on Tuesday 5th December at Specsavers Opticians, Islington. There are a choice of sessions starting from 6pm. This event has been set up primarily for those optometrists participating in the Hackney and Islington MECS pilot, (the WOPEC Glaucoma OSCE being part of the accreditation criteria) and will be funded by the LOC. It is, however, open to all members who work in East London, City or Islington. Please click here for more details and to book your place.

Before attending the OSCE, you would have to complete the online module. If you have not already done so, please email Tina Futcher-Smith at tina@jclconsulting.co.uk for an access code.

If you need any further information, please contact Michelle Martins at michelle@jclconsulting.co.uk by telephone on 020 3876 4930.

WOPEC Training

All those within the East London & City area can access the WOPEC training material free of charge through the LOC. Training material is available for MECS, cataract, glaucoma, low vision and learning disabilities. Please email tina@jclconsulting.co.uk with your request, stating which area(s) you work in. You will then be issued with a code and instructions of how to access the training modules

The College of Optometrists Joint Supervision Scheme

Optometrists who feel that they don’t have the time or space to supervise a trainee can register their interest with the College of Optometrists to joint supervise with another optometrist in their area.  Click here for more details.  If you have any questions on the initiative, please contact Joanna Williams at joanna.williams@college-optometrists.org or on 020 7776 4359.
